As a Senior Cloud Architect, Douglas is often focused on integrating the solution requirements with technical and business aspects to optimize the use of resources so that there is a balance between technology, security and costs.

Douglas has worked in the IT industry for +40 years and has extensive experience from many different IT areas. For the past 10 years, Douglas has focused on the technologies that drive the IT cloud and are now cornerstones of every modern IT solution. Douglas has also held senior executive positions in business management, sales and technology.

Previous experiences

As a Senior Cloud Architect at IBM, Douglas worked extensively with Kubernetes / OpenShift as a solution platform for a variety of projects. The work included, among other things, developing infrastructure architecture for systems, storage and networks, as well as including various security features to protect data and platforms. The solutions were often deployed in the cloud, which places extra high demands on security and regulatory compliance.

Specific technical knowledge and experience

Installation of multiple Red Hat OpenShift clusters in a variety of environments, both multi-node clusters and single-node clusters, some examples:

  • Multi-node Cluster with OpenShift Data Foundation for IBM Maximo application suite to IBM Cloud
  • Multi-node Cluster with OpenShift Data Foundation for IBM Maximo application suite on a Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) platform
  • Single-Node OpenShift Cluster to IBM Cloud
  • Single-Node OpenShift Cluster to an HCI platform
  • Deploy and manage OpenShift Virtualization on a “Bare Metal” HCI platform
  • Installation of various databases (MongoDB, Postgres, Redis) in the cloud
  • Design and configure networks in the cloud for solutions with virtual private cloud services in the cloud
